The BJP government’s decision to expel Mahua Moitra of the Trinamool Congress from Parliament is a blatant murder of democracy.
Unable to answer the series of questions raised by Mahua Moitra in Parliament, the Modi government has made a mockery of the Indian Constitution and democratic values by inappropriately expelling her with the intention of revenge. This cruel attitude of the BJP—that no one should question their governance—is absolute cowardice.
The ruling elite of the country has crushed the single voice that has stood as the people’s conscience in the parliament against the BJP government’s subsequent crackdown on the people through demonetisation, GST, Triple Talaq law, the Citizenship Amendment Act, etc.
Has there been any response to any of the questions raised by Mahua Moitra by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, including Amit Shah, or BJP MPs? If she has been expelled because she has repeatedly posed questions against Adani in Parliament, is this country and the government for the poor and downtrodden? Or is it for Ambani and Adani? Those who investigated Mahua Moitra regarding the person behind her to raise questions, why has no investigation been made so far, whether the questions she asked were correct or incorrect?
It is a matter of shame that those who permanently stopped the voices of Gauri Lankesh and Kalburgi, who questioned their fascistic tendencies through the massacres, have now started strangling Parliament. Mahua Moitra’s unethical expulsion is the next step in the BJP’s power drive to topple elected governments, buy out opposition members, and subjugate the opposition members who refuse to join the BJP by threatening them in the form of income tax and enforcement directorate raids.
The people of the country should teach a lesson in the coming parliamentary elections for such tyrannical practices carried out by the BJP government for ten years that conceit power is permanent.
