Nam Tamilar Katchi was founded in the year 2010 May 18 by Chief Coordinator Senthamilan Seeman. Registered party with Election Commission of India. Currently, the party is operating in Tamil Nadu state and Puducherry Union Territory.

Naam Tamilar Katchi officially contested in 2016 assembly elections, for the first time and registered a vote share of 1.1% with 4,58,104 votes.
In RK Nagar By-poll, the party secured 2.15% votes. Striding forward, in 2019 Parliament election, NTK secured a vote share of 3.89% followed by a giant leap to 6.72% in the 2021 TN state assembly elections emerging as the third largest political party in Tamil Nadu state.
