சத்தீஸ்கரில் பழங்குடியின மக்களுக்குச் சேவை செய்து வந்த கேரளாவைச் சேர்ந்த அருட்சகோதரிகள் மேரி மற்றும் வந்தனா பிரான்சிஸ் ஆகிய இருவரையும் பொய் வழக்கு புனைந்து அம்மாநில பாஜக அரசு கைது செய்துள்ளது வன்மையான கண்டனத்துக்குரியது.
அருட்சகோதரிகள் இருவரும் சத்தீஸ்கர் மாநிலம் நாராயண்பூரை சேர்ந்த மூன்று இளம் பெண்களை செவிலியர் படிக்க வைக்க தேவையான உதவிகளை செய்த நிலையில், அவர்களை ஆக்ரா அழைத்துச் சென்று மதமாற்றம் செய்ய திட்டமிட்டிருந்ததாக, இந்துத்துவ மதவாத அமைப்பான பஜ்ரங்தள் உள்நோக்கத்துடன் அளித்த பொய்ப் புகாரின் அடிப்படையில், எவ்வித முறையான விசாரணையும் மேற்கொள்ளாமல் சத்தீஸ்கர் மாநில அரசு அருட்சகோதரிகளை கைது செய்து சிறையில் அடைத்துள்ளது கொடுங்கோன்மையாகும்.
‘தன்னைப்போல அயலானையும் நேசி’ என்ற இறைமகன் ஏசு பிரானின் அருள்மொழிக்கேற்ப சத்தீஸ்கர் மாநில பழங்குடி மக்களுக்குக் கல்வி, மருத்துவம் உள்ளிட்ட சேவைகளை புரியும் பெரும்பணியில் ஈடுபட்டிருந்த அருட்சகோதரிகளின் தொண்டுள்ளம் மிகுந்த போற்றுதலுக்குரியது. ‘எளிய மக்களுக்குச் செய்யும் சேவையே, இறைவனுக்குச் செய்யும் சேவை’ என்ற உன்னத இலட்சியத்திற்குத் தம் வாழ்வையே அர்ப்பணித்த அருட்சகோதரிகளின் பணியை அங்கீகரித்து ஊக்கமளித்திருக்க வேண்டிய சத்தீஸ்கர் மாநில அரசு அதனை செய்யத் தவறியதுடன், மதவெறி மனப்பான்மையுடன் அளிக்கப்பட்ட பொய்ப்புகாரை ஏற்று கைது செய்து அவர்களின் மக்கட்பணியை முடக்க நினைப்பது பாசிச கொடுமைகளின் உச்சமாகும்.
அருட்சகோதரிகளை விடுவிக்கக்கோரி கேரளா உட்பட பல மாநிலங்களிலும் கிறித்துவ பெருமக்கள் மனகொந்தளிப்புடன் பெரும் போராட்டங்களை முன்னெடுத்து வரும் நிலையில் அவர்களை விடுவிக்க மறுத்து கொடுங் குற்றவாளிகள் போல நடத்துவது மதவெறி அன்றி வேறென்ன? சத்தீஸ்கரில் முந்தைய காங்கிரசு ஆட்சிக் காலத்தில் கொண்டுவந்த மதமாற்ற தடைச்சட்டத்தை தவறாக பயன்படுத்தியே தற்போதைய பாஜக அரசு அருட்சகோதரிகள் இருவரையும் கைது செய்து சிறையில் அடைத்துள்ளது என்பது கொடுமைகளின் உச்சமாகும்.
இந்திய ஒன்றியத்தில் மோடி தலைமையிலான பாஜக அரசு ஆட்சிக்கு வந்தது முதல் கடந்த 11 ஆண்டுகளாக இசுலாமிய, கிறித்துவ பெருமக்கள் மீதான தாக்குதல்கள் தொடர்ந்து நாளுக்கு நாள் அதிகரித்தே வருகின்றது. குறிப்பாக பாஜக ஆளும் மணிப்பூர் மாநிலத்தில் கிறித்துவ மக்கள் மீது பல மாதங்களாக நடைபெற்று வரும் கொடுந்தாக்குதல்கள் இன்றுவரை நின்றபாடில்லை. இந்திய நாட்டில் கிறித்துவ, இசுலாமிய மக்கள் நிம்மதியாக வாழ முடியாத கொடுஞ்சூழலை பாஜக அரசு ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. பிடித்த கடவுளை வழிபடுவதும், விரும்பிய மதத்தை பின்பற்றுவதும் இந்திய அரசியலமைப்பு வழங்கியுள்ள அடிப்படை உரிமையாகும்.
இசுலாமியர், கிறித்துவப் பெருமக்களை கண்டு பாஜக பயப்படுவது ஏன்? இத்தனை பதற்றம் கொள்வதுதான் ஏன்? அவ்வளவு பலகீனமாக உள்ளதா உங்கள் மதம்? மக்களுக்காக மதமா? அல்லது மதத்திற்காக மக்களா? அனைத்து மக்களுக்கும் பொதுவாக இருக்க வேண்டிய அரசு குறிப்பிட்ட மதத்திற்கு ஆதரவாகவும், குறிப்பிட்ட மக்களுக்கு எதிராகவும் செயல்படுவது அரசியல் சாசனத்தை அவமதித்து, மக்களாட்சி முறைமையை குழிதோண்டி புதைக்கும் கொடுஞ்செயலாகும்.
மதத்தை பாதுகாக்க இத்தனை போராடும் பாஜக ஆட்சியாளர்கள் நாட்டின் மக்களை வறுமை ஏழ்மையிலிருந்து பாதுகாக்க என்ன நடவடிக்கை எடுத்துள்ளீர்கள்? நாட்டு மக்கள் பயங்கரவாதிகளால் கொல்லப்பட்டபோது தடுத்து காக்க என்ன பாதுகாப்பு நடவடிக்கை எடுத்தீர்கள்? ஒன்றுமில்லையே!
மதத்தின் பெயரால் மக்களைப் பிரித்துப் பிளந்து, அதன் மூலம் ஆட்சி அதிகாரத்தை அடைந்துள்ள பாஜக அரசு, மதவெறிகொண்டு, மற்ற மதங்களின் சுதந்திரத்தைப் பறிக்க நினைப்பதும், மக்கட் பணியைத் தடுக்க முனைவதும் இந்த நாட்டினை பேரழிவினை நோக்கி இட்டுச் செல்லவே வழிவகுக்கும்.
ஆகவே, சத்தீஸ்கரில் பொய் வழக்கில் கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள கேரளாவைச் சேர்ந்த அருட்சகோதரிகள் மேரி மற்றும் வந்தனா பிரான்சிஸ் ஆகிய இருவரையும் அம்மாநில அரசு உடனடியாக விடுதலை செய்ய வேண்டுமென வலியுறுத்துகிறேன்.

Release Kerala Nuns Who were Arrested on False Charges in Chhattisgarh!
Two Kerala-born nuns, Mary and Vandana Francis, who have been serving the tribal communities of #Chhattisgarh, have been arrested by the BJP government of that state on a fabricated case, which deserves the strongest condemnation.
These nuns had merely extended support to three young women from Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh to pursue nursing education. Yet, acting on a false complaint by the Hindutva extremist group Bajrang Dal – that the nuns had allegedly taken them to Agra with the intent to convert them – the Chhattisgarh government, without conducting any proper investigation, has arrested and imprisoned the nuns. This is sheer tyranny!
In keeping with the divine words of Jesus Christ – “Love your neighbour as yourself” – these nuns were deeply involved in noble services such as providing education and healthcare to the tribal communities of Chhattisgarh. Their spirit of service deserves utmost appreciation. Instead of recognising and encouraging such selfless work done in the spirit of “Serving the poor is serving God”, the Chhattisgarh government, fuelled by religious hatred, has chosen to accept a baseless complaint and imprison them, thereby crushing their humanitarian mission.
Christians across Kerala and several other states have been staging widespread protests demanding their release. But treating these nuns like hardened criminals and refusing to free them is nothing but blatant religious bigotry. It is appalling that the BJP government has misused the anti-conversion law enacted during the previous Congress regime in Chhattisgarh to imprison these two nuns.
Since Narendra Modi and the BJP came to power in India 11 years ago, attacks on Muslims and Christians have been steadily increasing. Particularly in BJP-ruled Manipur, brutal attacks on Christians have continued unabated for months. The BJP government has created an environment in which Muslims and Christians cannot live peacefully in India.
Why does the BJP fear Muslims and Christians so much? Why such insecurity? Is your religion so weak? Is religion meant for people, or are people meant for religion? A government that should remain neutral for all citizens is instead siding with a particular religion and targeting specific communities – a blatant violation of the Constitution and an act that digs the grave of democracy itself.
The BJP rulers, who claim to protect religion with such zeal, have done nothing to protect the poor from poverty or safeguard citizens from terrorist attacks. What measures have you taken? None at all!
By dividing people in the name of religion and using that division to seize power, the BJP government is now trying to suppress other religions’ freedoms and obstruct humanitarian work. Such actions will only lead this country to disaster.
Therefore, I strongly urge the Chhattisgarh government to immediately release the two Kerala-born nuns, Mary and Vandana Francis, who have been falsely arrested on fabricated charges.
