I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear the tragic news of the explosion at a chemical factory in the Pasamailaram Industrial Estate, located in Sangareddy district of Telangana, which has claimed the lives of 37 people and left another 35 critically injured.
Both the state governments and the Indian Union Government must conduct regular inspections of industrial establishments to ensure that a safe working environment is provided for all workers. Every time such a disaster occurs, and several workers lose their precious lives, only then are hurried inspections initiated and action taken against the factory management. But no action, however prompt, can ever bring back even a single lost life.
Therefore, I strongly urge that industrial safety laws be made more stringent, and that the Indian Union and State governments jointly ensure the continuous enforcement of safety regulations in order to prevent such accidents and protect the irreplaceable lives of workers.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and share in their grief.
