Israel’s Brutal Attack on Palestinians; UN Should Consider War Crime Charges!

It is shocking that More than 200 Palestinians were wounded outside the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem as Israeli police fired rubber-coated metal bullets, tear gas and stun grenades towards protesters.

On the final Friday of Ramadan, tens of thousands of worshippers who had gathered at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is Islam’s third-holiest site, were brutally attacked by the Israeli police; this act of violence, including the week-long attack on the Palestinians by the Israeli police to forcefully evict people of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in east Jerusalem is highly condemnable.

The people of occupied East Jerusalem are fighting a long legal battle with Israeli settlers who are trying to acquire their property. In 1967, Jerusalem was occupied and later annexed by Israel. By attacking the people of Sheikh Jarrah and trying to evict them from the place that historically belong to the Palestinians by the Israeli police amounts not to human rights violations but also war crimes.

On behalf of the Naam Thamizhar Katchi, I urge the World’s nations to not just stop after releasing statements in support of Palestinians struggle but to provide amicable solutions. I also insists the UN to declare that Israel has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity and punish them accordingly, and take necessary actions to stop Israel from unleashing brutal attacks on the Palestinians.
